新山拓 Taku Shinyama

Taku Shinyama draws mountains that he has climbed alone. Not because he wants to draw mountains, but because he wants to express nature itself and the state of the universe. The title of the work, “PRAYER,” clearly indicates that a mountain is an object of prayer placed in the center of one’s mind and projected into the heart. The characteristic of his paintings is that he expresses the rock surface by applying thick layers of mineral pigments. The painter has a consistent concept of depicting the sublimity and energy of mountains that he has felt while climbing mountains and has the skill to express it. His works are collected by important collectors, mainly in Taipei, Hong Kong, and other Asian regions, and he is a remarkable artist who is likely to be appreciated in the future market.
